NEW VENTURE COACHING

The vision must be followed by the venture.
It is not enough to stare up the steps.
We must step up the stairs.

Hello! My name is Dave Peterson. I am a Professional Life Coach and the founder of New Venture Coaching. Thanks for stopping by today.

Since you’ve reached this page, I figure you may be feeling stuck or uncertain in your current situation and wondering how to change things. I’d be happy to help you see if coaching is right for you.

We have three goals here at New Venture Coaching: To help YOU…

  1. ReFocus: Through coaching, you will discover greater clarity regarding who you really are and the unique contribution you are called to bring to our world.
  2. ReCalibrate: The coaching process will help you to clearly set goals and design the next steps to fulfill your divine destiny.
  3. ReNew: You will gain new perspective, new energy, and new hope as you move forward into the future.

To give you a little background on who I am, my name is Dave Peterson. As a Life Coach, I help men and women gain clarity and confidence in their divine calling and purpose.

I have worked as a Pastor for most of my adult life, which uniquely qualifies me to coach others in life decisions. Following my undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Houghton College, I received my Masters of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Since my seminary graduation in 1980, I have served three churches as both a staff and lead pastor. In one of those churches, I served for over 25 years since planting it in 1987.Most recently I have been an interim pastor in three additional churches.

Since my seminary days, I have done extensive study in leadership, productivity, self-help, and ministry related areas. I have been in several coaching networks with church strategist and ministry coach Nelson Searcy and also worked with pastors in the Church Leader Insights network. I am currently enrolled in the Professional Christian Coaching Institute and moving toward full certification with the International Coach Federation.

Since 1999, my ministry has expanded beyond North America and into the former Soviet Union, the Baltics, Africa and India. I have taught in several overseas Bible schools and seminaries and am a featured presenter for Global Leadership Training conferences. Working with both positioned and emerging leaders in these countries has given me a unique perspective on the application of leadership principles to the specific issues ministry leaders face here in the United States.

My wife, Julie, and I have been married for over 40 years. We have four married children and four grandchildren. We live in the Hudson Valley of New York. I like strong coffee, but not after 6:00 PM!

WHAT IS COACHING?

What would happen if you were able to set aside a time with another person to intentionally focus on YOU and YOUR goals? Imagine gaining an increasing sense of fulfillment, a greater effectiveness, and an overwhelming clarity concerning your future.

Coaching brings this and more. It is an intentional relationship, with a trained coach, within a safe space where you can REFOCUS on your primary values, discover your unique giftedness, and clarify your life purpose.

Coaching helps you to RECALIBRATE the direction of your life through what has been called “a facilitated monologue”. It is a process where you safely explore and design the next steps necessary to help you reach your goals.

Coaching results in a RENEWED commitment to make your life count!

Coaching is confidential. Your coach considers all that you share as privileged information except in cases where it involves criminal activity, will affect the safety of others or disclosure is mandated by law.

IS COACHING FOR YOU?

Are you feeling frustrated and stuck? Uncertain of your future? Lacking clarity concerning your goals and how to achieve them?

Are you ready but hesitant to take the next steps on your life journey?

Coaching with New Venture will help you clarify those next steps and help you find the confidence and energy to move forward.

COACHING IS EFFECTIVE!

Think about this: A person who is working with a coach is up to four times more likely to reach their goal than without a coach.

Research conducted by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) reveals that coaching leads to marked improvement and benefits in:

  • Work performance
  • Business management
  • Time management
  • Team effectiveness
  • Self-confidence
  • Relationships
  • Communication skills
  • Life/Work balance

In other words, coaching is a good investment. It will bring greater effectiveness and fulfillment in your life.

COACHING IS NOT COUNSELING!

Coaching deals with the present and supports growth and improved performance toward your desired future. The focus in coaching is on clarifying vision, setting clear goals and developing actionable strategies for achieving those goals.

Counseling deals with the past, addressing pain and a need for healing within individuals or relationships. A client seeks counseling when they become overwhelmed with an illness or with some dysfunction in their life. There are very appropriate times to seek counseling and, if that is what you need, it is important to take that step.

Through New Venture Coaching, the emphasis is on you and the strategies you need for clarity, action, and follow through.

I invite you to contact me for a FREE initial session to explore how coaching might be helpful for you. Appointments are available. Please call 845-234-4656 or email me at dave@newventurecoaching.com.
