Curiosity killed the cat! Or did it?

Aug 21, 2023

You know that old saying, “Curiosity killed the cat!”? It’s funny how it’s meant to be a warning against being too curious. But, if we take a step back and think about it – most of our leaps in science, technology, and pretty much everything else began with someone being curious.

In my role as a Strategic Living Coach, I’ve discovered that a key way of helping my clients is by showing genuine curiosity about their lives and aspirations. Additionally, by nurturing their own sense of curiosity and encouraging them to explore, I empower them to take charge of their personal growth journey.

Today’s Theme: Curiosity

Quote

“I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.”

– Albert Einstein

“Choosing to be curious is choosing to be vulnerable because it requires us to surrender to uncertainty. It wasn’t always a choice; we were born curious. But over time, we learn that curiosity, like vulnerability, can lead to hurt. As a result, we turn to self-protecting—choosing certainty over curiosity, armor over vulnerability, and knowing over learning.”

― Brené Brown, Rising Strong: The Reckoning. The Rumble. The Revolution.
